When rebranding Kid Cuisine, I wanted to incorporate a toy gimmick to capture a child’s attention, similar to how toys are included with kids’ meals and cereal boxes. More specifically, I wanted these toys to promote creativity and problem-solving while still being engaging and fun. I chose two arts and crafts mediums, sewing and Perler bead art, as the toys for two separate meal boxes. QR codes are included to give the kid more instructions on how to use the toy included with their meal. Specific brands that I researched were Kid Cuisine, Lunchables, and Comfort Cravers, as they are typically targeted at children. While researching, I noticed kids’ meals typically have mascots to capture a kid’s attention and form a ‘bond’ with the character. I decided to not only redesign the Penguin mascot but also to draw the seamstress bunny and spooky zombie to fit the themes of both boxes. My design directly addresses parents as well to maintain Kid Cuisine's branding and create trust with the company and its products.
