For my thesis project, I combined my love for storytelling and character design with the skills I learned throughout my Graphic Design major and Creative Writing and Publishing minor. I worked closely alongside my thesis advisor, Nancy Mata, throughout the creative process to receive critiques and improve my project. The process of different brainstorming stages, sketching, illustrating, writing, designing, and assembly took two semesters to complete. My work culminated in a hand-crafted zine prototype along with a magnetic paper doll of the blonde character Delilah. As a mental health advocate, these character designs and development are also deeply tied to mental illness so that people can find representation and relatability within the stories they consume.
